Statistical Process Control

Statistical Process Control (SPC) allows us to consistently run processes and to detect an increase in variation which, if left uncorrected, could lead to the production of defects. With this tool we can adjust processes before defects are manufactured.

The Business Partners SPC training module introduces delegates to the principal theories, process analysis methods, and common control charts used in statistical process control.

Control Chart methodology for both variables and attributes is demonstrated.

The programme includes the following elements:

  • Prevention versus detection
  • Variation (common & special causes)
  • Process capability and control
  • Introduction to Control Chart methodology
  • Average & Range charts
  • Calculating process limits
  • Action points and improvements
  • Measuring process performance
  • Control Charts for attributes
  • Common failings in the application of SPC
  • Implementing SPC on the workshop floor

The programme is suitable for QA and TQM practitioners, Process Engineers, Process Supervisors and companies wishing to improve product quality through variation reduction. Particularly suitable for those implementing Quality Standards: QS9000 or VDA-6.

SPC training programmes for workshop personnel may be tailor made to meet your particular requirements.
